Two Arrested following Menacing Incident Friday Night

On 10/17/2025 at approximately 10:13 p.m., Milford Police Officers were contacted by three victims, who advised that they were in a vehicle in the 300 block of NW 2nd Street, Milford DE, when a SUV pulled up and  a suspect, later identified as a 17-year-old male, exited the vehicle. The suspect pointed a handgun at one of the victims, and demanded that they exit the vehicle. The victims did not comply and drove off. Victims also told officers that there was a second suspect involved in the incident.

Through investigative means, officers were initially able to positively identify the first suspect as a 17-year-old male and an arrest warrant was obtained for him.
 
On 10/20/2025, the suspect appeared for school at Milford High School, where he was immediately taken into custody by the School Resource Officer.  Officers conducted a lawful search of the suspect's vehicle, which was located on school property, discovering two (2) handguns and ammunition inside of the vehicle.  Both handguns did not contain serial numbers and are considered untraceable firearms. 
 
The 17-year-old male was charged with:
- Three counts of Possession, Purchase, Control a Firearm by Person under 21 (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
- Two counts of Possession, Purchase, Control Ammunition by Person under 21 (Felony)
- One count of Possession of Large Capacity Magazine During Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Two counts of Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon a Firearm (Felony)
- Two counts of Possession of a Firearm in a Safe Recreation Zone (School) (Felony)
- Two counts of Possession of Untraceable Firearm (Felony)
 
The juvenile had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 7 where he was committed to the Delaware Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services:  Stevenson House Detention Center in default of $69,500 cash bond.  A no contact order was issued between the juvenile and victims in this investigation including all schools and district offices of the Milford School District.  The juvenile was ordered to appear in the Kent County Family Court on 10/21/2025 for a bail review hearing.

Officers were successful in identifying the second suspect as Ivan Salez, 19 of Milford, DE.  On 10/21/2025, officers took Salez into custody at his residence.  He was charged with:
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Conspiracy 2nd Degree (Felony)
 
Salez had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 2 where he was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $5000.00 cash bond.  A no contact order was issued between him and the victims in this case.  He was ordered to appear in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
