Proactive Patrols Leads to Arrest of Two
On 09/23/2025, Milford Police Officers were conducting proactive patrols in the area of West St and Truitt Ave, Milford, Kent County, DE, after receiving numerous complaints of drug dealing occurring in the area. Officers observed several subjects all known to officers in the 500 block of West St acting suspiciously. A short time later, Officers attempted to make contact with the subjects regarding their suspicious behavior, when they fled from officers. A foot pursuit ensued, which resulted in all subjects being taken into custody without incident. The suspects were identified as Jared Whitemore, 18 of Milford, DE and Jayden Sykes, 19 of Milford, DE. Officers located drug paraphernalia and U.S. Currency.
Whitemore was charged with:
- Manufacture/Deliver/Possession with intent to deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
- Tampering with Physical Evidence- Evidence Suppression (Felony)
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree
Sykes was charged with:
- Resisting Arrest
- Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree
Both Whitemore and Sykes had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 2 where Whitemore was released on $7,750.00 unsecured bail and Sykes was released on $1,250.00 unsecured bail. Both were ordered to appear at a later date in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
