Proactive Patrol Leads to Burglary Arrest
On August 9, 2024, at approximately 3:01 am, a Milford Police Department Officer was on proactive patrol in the Cypress Hall Development on Geyer Ave off S. DuPont Blvd. Milford, Sussex County. While on patrol, the officer observed a black Kia sedan with no lights on traveling through the parking lot. Due to the suspicious nature of the vehicle, the officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and observed burglar tools and construction materials in the back seat. The officer detained the driver, Joshua Reeves, 33 of Elkton, MD, and the passenger, Timothy Frye, 29 of Elkton, MD. Further investigation revealed that Reeves and Frye entered a new construction property and stole construction material from within.
Reeves and Frye were both charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of Burglar Tools, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Theft under $1500. Reeves was also wanted out of Camden (DE) PD. Reeves and Frye had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 7 where they were both released on their own recognizance. A no contact order was put into place between the two defendants. They were both ordered to appear in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
