Milton Man Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges
The Milford Police Department is investigating two theft incidents that occurred on May 27, 2026, which led to the arrest of a Milton man on multiple felony charges.
At approximately 11:03 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Shell Station in the unit block of S. DuPont Boulevard for a reported theft. The victim reported that a black male wearing a mask attempted to steal merchandise before fleeing southbound on S. DuPont Boulevard in a blue vehicle with the registration plate covered.
At 11:10 a.m., officers responded to a second theft at the Dollar Tree in the 28000 block of Lexus Drive. The victim and witnesses provided the same suspect and vehicle description. The suspect reportedly fled northbound on S. DuPont Boulevard. Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle. In both incidents, no force was used or implied.
Through investigative efforts, detectives identified David L. Harmon, 35, of Milton, DE, as the suspect. An arrest warrant was obtained. Detectives responded to Harmon’s residence in the 25000 block of Williams Farm Road, where he was taken into custody without incident. Harmon was wearing the same clothing observed during the earlier incidents.
During the arrest, detectives located suspected powder cocaine and heroin on Harmon. A search warrant was executed at his residence, resulting in the seizure of a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun, 49.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine, prescription medication, and drug paraphernalia. The handgun was confirmed to be stolen, and Harmon was determined to be prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Harmon was transported to the Milford Police Department and charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
- Manufacture/Deliver/Possession With Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (2 counts/Felony)
- Manufacture/Deliver/Possession With Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance (Felony)
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm (Felony)
- Possess/Consume a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance (2 counts)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Disorderly Conduct
- Attempted Theft Under $1500 (2 counts)
- Menacing
Harmon was presented at Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $199,400 secured bail. He was issued no?contact orders with the victim businesses and is scheduled to appear at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
