Milford Man Arrested for DUI, Concealed Firearm Following Shots Fired Call

MILFORD, DE – On August 30, 2026, at approximately 6:46 a.m., the Milford Police Department responded to the 900 block of North Church Street following reports of a large party and shots being fired.
 
Upon arrival, officers located a group of individuals gathered around a running vehicle, which was occupied by two people. During the initial contact, officers observed that the operator of the vehicle exhibited signs of alcohol impairment. Further investigation led to the discovery of a Taurus 9mm handgun hidden inside the vehicle's center console.
 
Officers also located a spent shell casing on the ground nearby, corroborating the initial reports of gunfire.
 
The operator, identified as Evens Amisal, 30, of Milford, DE, initially resisted officers' commands, but was taken into custody without further incident.
 
Amisal has been charged with the following offenses:
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon - Firearm (Class D Felony)
Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Class E Felony)
Resisting Arrest
Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI)
 
Amisal was arraigned through the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delaware Department of Correction in lieu of $17,100 secured bail. A no-contact order was issued, and he is scheduled to appear in court at a later date for a preliminary hearing.
