Milford Man Arrested For Assault
On January 29, 2024 at approximately 7:06 pm, the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to a residence in the 500 block of Truitt Ave for a report of an assault that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers contacted a 38-year-old male, who was suffering from a stab wound to his lower back. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Bayhealth Sussex Campus. The male victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury and was listed in stable condition. Through investigation, investigators identified the suspect as Jhaizhir Luke, 23 of Milford, DE. Luke was located within the 500 block of Truitt Ave and was taken into custody without incident.
Luke was charged with Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited. He had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 7 where bail was set at $20,500 secured bail. A no contact order was issued between him and the victim. Luke is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on February 16, 2024 for a Preliminary Hearing.
