On 11/17/2023 at approximately 3:49 a.m., Milford Police Department Patrol Division was contacted by a subject asking for assistance with obtaining property from a residence in the 300 Block of NW 2^nd St., Milford, Kent County, DE.  As units were in route to assist the subject, the subject called back and advised that he had just been assaulted by a subject at the residence.  Officers responded to the scene, where they made contact with the victim who had visible injuries and advised that he had been assaulted by the suspect, Frederick Caldwell, 47 of Dover, DE.  Caldwell had fled from the scene prior to officers’ arrival. 

As a result of the investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for Caldwell for Assault 1^st Degree, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Aggravated Menacing and Breach of Release. 

Caldwell was taken into custody without incident on 11/18/23, with the assistance of Dover Police Department.

Caldwell had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court and was committed to the Department of Correction in lieu of $62,000 U.S.C. cash bail.  Caldwell was issued a no contact order with the victim.  Caldwell was ordered to appear in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas at a later date.
