Burglary Investigation leads to Arrest of Milford Man

On December 15, 2025, at approximately 6:30 pm, the Milford Police Department responded to a residence in the 11000 block of Farmerfield St., Simpson’s Crossing Development, for a burglary in progress.  Upon arrival, officers encountered Rousevel Delva, 39 of Milford DE, inside of the residence.  Through interviews, officers learned that Delva did not live at the residence and had forced his way into the residence when another occupant entered.  Officers also learned that Delva did damage property inside of the residence, prior to being apprehended by officers.  Officers took Delva into custody without incident.

Delva was charged with:
One count of Burglary 2nd Degree (Felony)
Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child
One count of Offensive Touching
One count of Criminal Mischief under $1000

Delva had a presentment through the Justice of the Peace Court 3.  Delva was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $12,200 secured bond.  He was also ordered to have no contact with the victims in this case.  He was ordered to appear at a later date in the Sussex County Court of Commons Pleas for a preliminary hearing.
