Our Community Resource section of this website is designed to direct our citizens to various public service-related information available online.

Code Purple Sussex County

A Code Purple Shelter is not a traditional shelter, it gives emergency shelter to aid the homeless on the cold winter nights.

Brandywine Counseling

Delaware's leading community-focused behavioral health organization, Brandywine Counseling and Community Services (BCCS) does the difficult work. We do what must be done to make neighborhoods stronger, safer and healthier. With more than 250,000 Delawareans served by BCCS, our prevention and treatment services do not, and cannot, differentiate between race, religion and social classes. We tackle the challenges of depression, addiction, homelessness, poverty, illness and isolation. We know that health is more than a physical state - it's mental, social and emotional. When we look at it that way, we can help our clients heal - and interrupt cycles of generational trauma and addiction.

Community Legal Aid Society, Inc.

(CLASI) helps provide equal access to justice, improving lives since 1946

La Esperanza

Founded in 1996 to stand as a beacon of hope for the increasing number of immigrants in Sussex County, La Esperanza has evolved into the only multiservice nonprofit focused on building family empowerment among Latinos. Our fully bilingual and bicultural staff guides individuals and families to effectively integrate into the fabric of life in Sussex County.

Delaware Victim's Services

National Council on Aging

The National Council on Aging (NCOA) provides resources for the country's older adults and caregivers. They report that 6 in 10 people with dementia will wander at least once. As a family caregiver, it can be challenging to recognize the signs of potential wandering, much less make preparations to prevent it. The NCOA created the guide, Understanding Wandering Risks With Older Adults that aims to help caregivers understand and plan for wandering by discussing the following: * The physical (and emotional) dangers of wandering * How to recognize common warning signs & triggers * What caregivers can do to prepare ahead of time
